These MM II Upgrade Program Team members will work with your accounts
(remotely, unless a unique customer issue requires an on-site visit)
using special migration toolsets or upgrade planning procedures, and can
generate post-sales implementation plans. Sales reps are asked to first
complete a survey form providing consultants with customer information;
call Kathy Pierson at TN 447-6427 for a copy of the form.
The Manufacturing consultant should generally take the lead role, unless
the account has HP Financials only. PSO selling time will be recorded
in the "Hb" category on the consultants' WARs.

2) NEW CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL VIDEO -- MM II UPGRADES
"Moving Up!" is a new videotape of HP MM II customers talking about
their very positive experiences with their companies' recent HP 3000
system upgrades. Order it via HPDESK from Carol Grant / HP0000.
Videotape ID number is 90613T; cost is $4 each. Please include your
shipping address, location code, and account code information in the
DESK message.
3) CUSTOMER AUDIO CONFERENCE, AUGUST 11
The next CSY Audio Conference Seminar, entitled "How to Get the Most for
your Upgrade Dollars" will air twice on Wednesday, August 11 (at 11 AM
and 4 PM Eastern Time). Information System managers can learn more
about three key HP 3000 promotions for second half, including the MM II
upgrade program, and hear other customers discussing their successful
experiences. To register for this free conference, have your customers
call 1-800-945-4951 as early as possible before 8/11, to insure that
program materials can be shipped to them in time.
4) POST-SALES CONSULTING ASSISTANCE FOR MM II UPGRADES
Up to 10% of your MM II customers' hardware upgrade dollars can be
applied to post-sales consulting, training, or implementation assistance
(in lieu of the 10% hardware discount). Available funds for PSO
participation therefore increase, of course, depending upon the size of
the order.
The PSO MM II Program Team will scope post-sales service proposals to
fit the available dollars. If your customer needs additional
assistance, the team can scope and sell an additional engagement. (The
10% discount amount must cover travel costs, if applicable). Attachment
A's defining specific deliverables will be delivered with the hardware
quotes. The consulting orders will be booked at receipt of the hardware
orders and invoiced at the shipment of the hardware.
5) REMEMBER -- HP FINANCIALS (FA and FM) ALSO QUALIFY
Although "Manufacturing Management II" sounds like purely manufacturing
software, the HP MM II family also INCLUDES MANY FINANCIAL APPLICATIONS
(Financial Systems Application Software and Financial Management
Products in the HP 3000 Price Guide).
Hardware upgrades that take place within the same or lower software tier
incur NO uplift charges, of course. "FA to FA" or "FM to FM" software
uplift charges that do apply are eligible for the promotions' usual 40%
discount (through October 31). FA to FM migrations -- where a clear
change in product functionality is involved -- DO NOT QUALIFY for the
standard promotion BUT if your customer is in this situation, call
Yvonne Ross at SWT (960-5681) for possible special pricing assistance.
